Our AML and Verification Policy

Since we launched in 2023 under licence MGA/B2C/394/2017 from the Malta Gaming Authority, we have applied the same verification standard to every player. This page sets out exactly what we check, when we check it and what we ask from you.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

Why the rules bind us

We hold licence MGA/B2C/394/2017 issued by the Malta Gaming Authority, and that licence obliges us to operate under Malta's Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations. In practice this means we must know who our players are, where their funds come from and where their winnings go.

Our anti-money-laundering programme is built on four pillars: customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and staff training. Every department at Casea Gaming Ltd, from payments to customer support, works to the same written procedures, and our Money Laundering Reporting Officer reviews them against MGA guidance each 2026.

When and How We Verify You

Verification triggers

We verify identity at three points. First, we confirm your basic details at registration, including your age, because no one under 18 may hold an account with us. Second, we require full verification before your first withdrawal. Third, we re-check accounts that cross activity thresholds or show changed details, such as a new payment method or address.

  • Photo ID: passport, driving licence or national identity card
  • Proof of address: a utility bill or bank statement issued within the last three months
  • Payment method verification: a card photo showing the first six and last four digits, or a wallet or crypto wallet screenshot confirming your name

The Verification Process Step by Step

What to expect

Verification runs through your account settings. Upload clear, uncropped colour photographs or PDFs of each document, with all four corners visible. Our compliance team reviews every file manually, and processing takes up to 48 hours, usually less when the documents are legible and details match your profile.

We store your documents on encrypted servers in the EU, with access limited to trained compliance staff. We never share verification files with third parties except where the law or our regulator requires it.

  • Open the Verification section in your account and start the KYC wizard
  • Upload photo ID and wait for the automated readability check
  • Add proof of address dated within three months
  • Verify your payment method if you plan to withdraw to it
  • Receive an email confirmation once each document is approved

Why We Ask for Source of Funds

Evidence of legitimate play

For most players, ID and proof of address are enough. When deposits are unusually large or betting patterns raise a question under our monitoring rules, our licence obliges us to establish where the money came from.

Acceptable evidence includes payslips, an employment contract, a tax return, audited company accounts, a dividend or pension statement, or a property sale record. We ask for the level of detail proportionate to the amounts involved, and we treat everything you send as strictly confidential.

How We Monitor Transactions

Checks on every payment

Every deposit and withdrawal passes automated screening. Our systems flag unusual size, frequency or patterns for human review, and we report any suspicion to the Malta Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit as required by law.

Our withdrawal limits are £5,000 per day and £20,000 per month. We return funds through the same method you used to deposit wherever technically possible, in line with the same-method rule: card deposits are refunded to the same card, wallet balances go back to the wallet, and crypto returns to a wallet you own. E-wallet and crypto withdrawals clear within 0 to 24 hours, cards take 1 to 3 business days, and bank transfers 3 to 5 business days. We charge no fees on either side.

When Verification Fails or Stalls

What happens next

If a document is unclear or details do not match your profile, we contact you by email and explain precisely what needs correcting. You keep full access to your account while you fix the issue.

If you do not complete verification before your first withdrawal, the withdrawal stays pending until the files arrive. If you cannot or will not provide the requested documents, or if we identify a third party using your account, we must suspend the account and may close it and refund the balance to a verified method in your name. Repeated refusal to cooperate with source-of-funds requests leads to the same outcome, and we reserve the right to report the matter where the law requires it.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

Retention and your rights

Maltese AML law requires us to retain verification records for five years after the business relationship ends, so we keep ID, proof of address and payment evidence for that period even after account closure.

You may request a copy of the data we hold about you at any time by writing to [email protected], and our live chat team is available 24/7 to help with verification questions before you submit anything.

Frequently asked questions

How long does verification at Casea Casino take?

We review documents within 48 hours of upload, and clear, matching files are usually approved faster. You receive an email as soon as each document is checked.

Do I need to verify before I can deposit and play?

No. You can register, deposit and play with basic details confirmed. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal.

Which documents do you accept as proof of address?

A utility bill, bank statement or official government letter dated within the last three months, showing your name and residential address.

Why do you ask for source of funds?

Our MGA licence requires us to confirm that large deposits come from legitimate earnings or wealth. We only ask when the amounts or patterns warrant it.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

As a rule we return funds to the same method you used to deposit. If that is technically impossible, we send the balance by bank transfer to an account in your verified name.
